headed to graduation

ONE MORE DAY until I am officially a graduate of East Carolina University!

I'll be receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design

My cap has been decorated with glitter, my outfit is chosen and my grades are in! Now I'm just waiting on my family to get in town. I'm off to get a mani pedi - special treat from mom :] 

Jessica Biel me please!

Hello all! This post is a bit late but I got my hair cut on Friday. It was taking me 40+ minutes to blow dry my hair and I was snapping hair ties left and right - aka the usual signs that scream "I need a trim."

I decided to switch it up a bit and go with a new style. I've been crazy about Jessica Biel's hair for a while now but I have always been nervous about the middle part. Anyone else feel like they look weird with one?

Here were the hair inspo photos I brought to my stylist:

I have similar hair to hers - thick and a little wavy - so I thought this cut could really work for me. I can wear it parted in the middle and also on the side (just in case I end up hating it.)

These are pictures I took with my macbook pro hours after getting it cut... and partying... hence the messy hair. I'll have to take a pic next time I blow it out but for now you get the whole 2 different parts idea.

The best part about waking up...

is COFFEE in your cup!!!!

I love bringing a hot tumbler full of coffee to class during the cold months but now that its getting warmer I usually switch it up and drink iced coffee.

Iced coffee can be such a pain. You have to brew it and let it cool so that it doesn't split glasses when you mix it with ice. I'm always so lazy in a rush in the morning so the Starbucks drive-thru is usually my best bet. I just hate that its like $4 every single time I go! 

But that is all in the past... low and behold the 

International Delights Iced Coffee!!

There are 3 super delish flavors - Vanilla, Original & Mocha. 

I prefer the Vanilla!! This stuff is amazing.. like drink-a-whole-carton-in-one-sitting amazing!!! 

Just pour it right out of the carton on some ice and you are good to go. 

I found it at Lowes Foods and I only saw it at 1 out of 3 Harris Teeters in the Greenville NC area. I think this product is still really new.. but I do live in a college town in the middle of no where Eastern NC so I could be wayyy wrong.

In Starbucks money that would be about $30!!! Hellooooo money saver!

Any who... Monday was my last day of classes EVER! Today is a reading day and the rest of the week is exam week. I just have to turn in 3 final things and have lunch with my senior Graphic Design class and then its graduation! Just 9 days away! EKKK!

To the beach!

Today Steve & I are off to the BEACH!

My close friend from Graphic Design, Andrea needed someone with a big car to take her to Wilmington so that she could pick up a surf board. She is screen printing a design on this big blank surfboard for our senior show. Well Steve has a big gas guzzling Explorer and we are always down for an adventure!

We are picking up the board from Wilmington and then spending the day and night at her beach house in Oak Island! I'm super excited - I LOVE the outer banks! Oh and we are bringing our dog too!

1st Anniversary of my 21st!!

Today is my birthday - I'm officially 22!!!

It doesn't feel very different from 21.. just not as exciting HAHA!

This morning I had to present my final design project (ever) and I had breakfast on campus with some of my design classmates. ECU's french toast sticks are amazing!

I'm going to be working at Barefoot on the Mall today handing out copies of Rebel 54 - the literary arts magazine I helped design this year. We are also handing out wayfarer sunglasses and beach balls with our Rebel logo on them! *Barefoot is a big giant party/concert held in the grassy area in the middle of ECU's campus every year. This year we have a bunch of people performing but the big name is New Boyz - you know the ones that sing that You're a JERK.. JERK JERK song.

Yep - that's ECU for you. 

Did you y'all catch ECU being oh so classy on the newest episode of MTV's Savage U? Oye vey!! They made fun of the dorm Aycock and I LIVED THERE!!! It was so crazy to see my college on tv - even though they chose the DUMBEST people to talk to. I'd be embarrassed but I just love this university so so so much and I'm about to graduate. I guess you can call it PIRATE PRIDE!!!

Any who.. Steve is taking me to dinner at our special place in town - Tokyo - for sushi! We went there for our first Valentines day and its been our little tradition to have dinner there for special occasions. Steve even took me out of the blue the night he gave me my promise ring. Mascara refresher

Lets talk lashes y'all!

My favorite mascara EVER is Loreal Volume Million Lashes. This stuff is fantastic and definitely a blog world favorite. I've had my latest tube for about 2 months now and I know its got another month in it but lately its been getting clumpy and crumbly mid day.

I turned to my lifeline Pinterest for a solution and discovered that adding a few drops of contact solution to your tube of mascara can bring it back to life. I personally use Bio True bc my eyes are sensitive and it makes my contacts feel like brand new but any brand will work.

Tried & true ladies... now go raise your favorite mascara from the grave!
*Remember mascara should be tossed out every 3 months or so

Random things you should know about ME

I like to think there is someone out there reading this blog wanting to know a little more about me... hopefully that is the case because you (are you out there?) are about to have your wish granted! ;]

1. I am ridiculously allergic to cats. Which sucks because every once in a while I come across a really funny cat that I want to play with and maybe even snuggle up to.. but I can't unless I want itchy watery eyes and a sniffly nose for the rest of the day.

2. I absolutely hate doing laundry -- HATE IT. Why is it that after I wash my clothes they never look as good was when I first bought them!? WHY!?

3. Its has been 1 month and 13 days since I have eaten red meat. This is a big accomplishment to me.. that's no burgers for 44 days y'all!

4. I'm an email marketer's dream. Whenever I get emails from Kate Spade, J Crew, Rue La La, Ulta (etc) I immediately stop what I'm doing and check out their sites. Talk about shopaholic.. now I just need a post-grad job to fuel that fire.

5. When Steve goes to work at 10pm I have Jackie time... almost every night unless I am swamped with school work. I hop in my bed with my laptop or magazines and paint my nails, do little crafty things and usually watch stuff on E! or TLC. I love having ME time!

6. I am completely terrified that after May 4th I have absolutely no set plans for the rest of my life. I'd like to find a job designing in Atlanta or Charlotte, I'd like to go on fabulous tropical vacations and visit Italy, I'd like to plan a dream wedding and have just 2 kids... but all of that seems suuuuuper far off and unattainable lately. le sighhh.
